Slavery was introduced in America as an answer to the labor problems for large farms that grew cash crops such as tobacco and later cotton which was previously done by White Bond Servants who were paying their passage from Europe.
Slavery is defined by Wikipedia as any system in which principles of property law are applied to people, allowing individuals to own, buy and sell other individuals, as a de jure form of property. A slave is unable to withdraw unilaterally from such an arrangement and works without remuneration. Many scholars now use the term chattel slavery to refer to this specific sense of legalized, de jure slavery. In a broader sense, however, the word slavery may also refer to any situation in which an individual is de facto forced to work against their own will. Scholars also use the more generic terms such as un-free labour or forced labour to refer to such situations. However, and especially under slavery in broader senses of the word, slaves may have some rights and protections according to laws or customs.
Many years later were introduced to the new millennial slavery in which we work endlessly to wear the names of our slave masters such as Gucci, H&M, and etc. Not only are we working for free just to bare their names but these companies, just like during the end of American labor slavery have made designs that causes the feelings of in superiority which have been displayed, advertised, and sold both domestically and international.
Just like labor slavery of the 19th century, the 22nd century slavery will not end until the actions these companies, and America lose their number one subject which is profits.
